Welcome to Hazelnut Hill.
Our online store is currently closed while we process orders already taken.
We make our product fresh so with holiday demand there is only so much we can take on.
We will reopen IF we see our way clear to accommodate more orders.
While we reach our capacity to process Christmas Holiday orders please know that our nuts are available year-round and you'll have an easier time ordering after January 2nd.
Rob & I grow hazelnuts at our orchard near Corvallis, Oregon. Our varieties were selected for their quality, taste and disease-resistance. We've been making products and selling grower-direct since 1985.
We are committed to growing our hazelnuts sustainably, without the use of pesticides, to help in the reduction of negative environmental impacts.
Sustainable by necessity
Why we closed the store at the orchard.
Conventional business wisdom says to grow your business bigger and bigger. But when we grew bigger, Rob & I found ourselves as managers and administrators, loosing our greatest pleasure, which is to personally create products for you. On top of this, we were working 80+ hours weeks, Rob's hair is getting too grey for that; something had to give. So, painfully, in January 2013, we closed our retail shop and reduced our team from a high of 13 people to three of us (Rob, Sally & Max).
What does this mean to you?
Our products are now available by mail-order only. We simply do not have the capacity to take telephone orders and the retail shop is closed.
The holidays (November/December) tend to be the busiest time, since we will most likely reach our December production capability early on, we encourage you to order early for holiday gift-giving.
While we have reached our capacity for the Christmas holiday, please know that our hazelnuts are available year-round.
To those of you who have been with us since day one, we want to express our deepest appreciation. It's because of you that we are Hazelnut Hill!
To those of you who are new, we say "welcome". We invite you to taste the Hazelnut Hill difference.
